Breast Cancer Awareness —
Lower your risk of developing breast cancer

Environmental Toxins do affect breast health. See the “Before and After” images following the PBW protocol.

BEFORE following the PBW Protocol

This is a post menopausal woman and she was eating conventional meat and dairy which may contain bovine growth hormone and antibiotics. She was on too much Estradiol in her hormone replacement mixture without any bio-identical progesterone after a hysterectomy. She was having a host of menopausal symptoms including insomnia.

AFTER following the PBW Protocol for 1 ½ years, her menopausal symptoms have cleared up.

Note that all the large dilated vessels have shrunk down to light wispy vascular patterns. She now eats an organic gluten free diet and has lost weight. Her cholesterol levels were elevated to 300 and have gone down to just above 200. Her “good cholesterol” HDL has improved and her LDL dropped 30 points. She is no longer borderline hypothyroid and her Vitamin D levels are optimal and she now rarely gets colds.

To gain more awareness about the environmental impact on your risk of developing breast cancer, I strongly suggest you view the slide presentation in the herbicide/pesticide section of our website. Click here to view the presentation.

We are excited to show you how the breast tissue has improved after following our Proactive Breast Wellness protocol and after making dietary, environmental changes and achieving  hormone  balance. We also want you to learn some of the breast cancer awareness basics about how cellular structures change and become tumors and why the environmental toxins that have estrogen mimicker effects have such an impact on your future health.

To better understand what you are looking at on this page, the following is an explanation of how we use Infrared thermography as an adjunctive risk assessment tool to monitor a woman’s progress on the protocol and as an additional tool in evaluating hormone and estrogen mimicker activity and it’s influence on the breasts. Breast cancer awareness begins with information and knowledge, so I strongly suggest you view the slide presentation in the herbicide/pesticide section of our website. Scientists state that your environment and your dietary choices impacts your future risk of developing breast cancer by 91%  to 93 %.  Your genetics and family history only contributes to your breast cancer risk by 7 % to 9%, according to the  2007 American Cancer Society report. This means you can actually do something to make positive changes to alter these odds and improve your health and the health of your whole family. The Proactive Breast Wellness program has been empowering women to make these changes through breast cancer awareness.

Diagram shows changes in cell structure and cellular activity

So what are we looking at here? This diagram was provided to me by one of my surgical partners to describe what is going on in the breast tissue. You also need to remember that most breast cancers take 10 to 12 years to grow to a point where they can be felt as a dime size mass. As in most diseases, there is a “tipping point”, health on one side and disease progression on the other. Your body has amazing mechanisms to help you maintain your healthy status and your immune system is constantly working to help you heal and improve your health. PBW assists women in maintaining this healthy balance. Let us learn more about how this works so you may better understand the “Before and After” images on this page.

The first drawing is a cross section of a Normal Milk Duct. The second image is Intraductal Hyperplasia showing some extra cells that are beginning to cluster inside the milk duct.

The middle image is Hyperplasia with Atypia, where some of the cells are becoming malformed and are beginning to accumulate within the duct. At this point the cells are receiving their nutrition and oxygen from the capillary bed surrounding this area. Some experts feel this may be a “Pre-cancerous” stage but your body has wonderful powers created by your immune system to alter what is going on in your body on a cellular level. Your body attempts to bring you back to a state of wellness.

Many scientists feel that ALL of us develop cancers 3 to 6 times in our life time but whether or not we develop disease may firmly rest on  our coping skills, amount of environmental stressors and chemical burden that we carry, status of our  immune system, nutrition,  stress or psycho-social situations. Things are changing in your body all the time and the PBW program was developed to help you stay in the “health” zone away from the tipping point. My personal feeling is that the “Borderline TH3” infrared thermography images are picking up the heat sources from the increasing clusters of cells that are putting up a heat signature or the increased vascularity, that over time may create a negative  health outcome. These borderline scans usually carry additional thermal markers or increased overall vascularity, that are found to indicate  hormone influences. Please  view the grey scale images below. Cancer tumor doubling time appears to be connected to having increased blood flow and vessels that lead to the growing tumor or cluster of abnormal cells. Too much estrogen from estradiol or estrone when not balanced with adequate amounts of progesterone will increase metabolic activity in the breast tissue. Synthetic hormone replacement and birth control pills also activate the breast tissue. The larger problem comes from the estrogen mimickers from herbicides, pesticides, plastics and a host of other environmental toxins. The main source of dietary estrogen intake comes from bovine growth hormones in non organic meat and dairy and plant estrogens in tofu and flax.

One of the areas that the allopathic community may not have considered in depth is this question of “Estrogen Mimickers or Estrogen Hormone Disruptors” and their effects on breast tissue. The women who seem to have normal thermograms TH1 or TH2 tend to avoid bovine growth hormones, eat organically and have avoided toxic levels of environmental toxins. They have much less vascularity on their infrared images. (See the slide show for more details). Providers do hormone testing and tell the woman her levels are fine but there are no common blood tests for Atrazine, Bovine Growth Hormone, BPA plastics, Agent Orange or Round Up, to name a few of these estrogen mimickers. All of these chemicals and a score of others may increase the vascularity and metabolic activity in the breast. The estrogen receptor sites, that are fat bound, cannot tell the difference between binding with Estradiol or Round Up. This is a major problem if the woman has some abnormal cells beginning to accumulate. I feel that these environmental toxins and bovine growth hormones are some of the main reasons for an epidemic rise in breast and a host of other cancers.  The PBW program has been helping women to learn how to limit their exposure.

The fourth image shows DCIS or Ductal Carcinoma In Situ where the abnormal cells have filled the center of the milk duct. At this point the growing tumor cells release nitric oxide which is a vaso dilator. Small vessels in the breast  are held open to feed the growing tumor. The cancer may also create it’s own vascular blood flow system which ensures tumor growth with a steady source of nutrition and oxygen. This is called neo-angiogenisis. This may be seen by infrared, MRIs and sometime by a dopplar when doing an ultrasound.

The last image is Invasive Ductal Carcinoma where the cancer cells have broken through the milk duct and are beginning to expand into other tissue. The blood flow to these tumors are usually well established now and they have  vessels leading to the area and feeding the cancer.

If you have not visited the “Herbicide slide show” yet, I suggest you view these images because it will give examples of what normal and abnormal images look like.

It is speculated that the DCIS and Invasive Ductal cancers are creating a more pronounced thermal focus due to the increased blood flow and metabolic activity caused by the abnormal  clustered cells. Infrared is helpful as an adjunctive  “Risk Assessment” tool to evaluate increasing areas of heat and to monitor changes over time. These women should be evaluated by mammogram, ultrasound and possibly MRI to identify a target for a biopsy or surgical excision. Biopsy is the only way to diagnose a cancer.

The aggressiveness of the cancer cells and their growth rate will determine the amount of malignant neo angiogenisis. This increased blood flow providing more oxygen and nutrition  contributes to tumor doubling time. Reducing the physiological activity in the breast is one of the goals for reducing your potential future risk of developing breast cancer.

The following images are patients of mine who have been on the Proactive Breast Wellness program. The color scale on the right of the IR images denotes that dark blue on the bottom is coldest. Light blue is warmer and green is warmer still and the colors and the temperatures rise as you move up the chromatic scale. You want to see more “Blue” than “Red”.

Infrared Images Before and After following the Proactive Breast Wellness Protocol

BEFORE following the PBW Protocol

The top images are of a postmenopausal woman prior to starting the PBW program. She has been eating flax and soy products 5 times a week and a conventional non organic diet. Notice the increased vascular patterns. The breasts are warmer as noted by the light blue color. The goal is to decrease the vascularity and metabolic activity in the breasts so they become cooler.

AFTER following the PBW Protocol

The images below are 27 months after being on the PBW protocol. Notice the changes after making lifestyle, dietary, environmental changes and hormone adjustment. The breasts are less vascular and cooler as noted by the darker blue color. They are no longer tender.

———————————————————————————————————————

The images on the left are “Before” following the PBW protocol and the images on the right are 21 months “After” being on the PBW program. On the right, notice the marked improvement in the decrease of the vascular patterns. She has also lost 35 pounds and is feeling much better. She originally was eating non organic food, flax and soy. She discovered she had a soy allergy with gastrointestinal symptoms, which may have been GMO related. She is now on thyroid replacement and her labs and symptoms are much improved. She is still on the PBW protocol and has been pleased with her progress.
